Limpy,If your hauling haz-mat,flammables,explosives,combustibles you can not have a flame producing device in a CMV.Another thing is if you have a flame producing device that can elevate carbon monoxide levels in the cab(stove)it is prohibited.Fmcsa 392.66.Last.FMCSA393.77.Your stove can also be classified as a heater.Again prohibited use.As far as the cylinder for the stove function,it is a 2.1 flammable and although it is considered a consumer commodity by its size and weight it is in a CMV and may be subject to haz-mat regulations. There may be some that say a stove might fall under the MOTS regulation but it does not.It is neither a primary or a secondary function of a CMV.

I only know about boat regulations, not truck ones, but certainly propane/LPG has all sorts of ventilation requirements because of the carbon monoxide risk. And the actual cylinders have to be stored in a sealed locker, outside of the cabin, to prevent leaks.

Like I say, that's 'boat' rules, but seeing as I run a diesel engine on the boat, I'm guessing the gas-and-diesel rules aren't too different?
And in any case, common sense play a big part, even if you can't find specific rules!
