How many days to transfer CDL to another state? CR England may be lying...

I know what you mean...just like you think of the perfect comeback...3 minutes later....2 min 49 sec late!

 

dude it aint a big deal bud i was in MA for 6 months for the winters plow season then i went back down to florida. i had an apartment, adress, bills, even a job that paid on top of the table and no one ever bugged me about it. i still had florida plates on the truck and a florida liscence and the cops even knew me "very small town" im sure if ur a few days late it wouldent be a big deal. just keep low dont draw attention to yourself on the road while ur out there and noone will ask

 

It took me almost 5 months to get mine switched over... I got my training and was in the middle of a move between 2 states...

The DMV is Washington was a little concerned with the time but only in regards to me having to re-test... I produced my test score sheets from my Missouri tests and with that in hand they gave me my liscense without a retest.

You need to be calm and do what the company tells you to do unless it is blatantly illegal... rocking the boat this early, hopefully, ALMOST and not ACTUALLY got you sent home.

 

Federal rules in 49 CFR require a CDL to be transferred to the state of residence within 30-days.

Domicile requirement.

(a) The State shall issue CDLs only to those persons for whom such State is the State of domicile as defined in Sec. 383.5 of this title; except that the State may issue a nonresident CDL under the conditions specified in Sec. Sec. 383.23(b), 383.71(e), and 383.73(e) of this title. (b) The State shall require any person holding a CDL issued by another State to apply for a transfer CDL from the State within 30 days after establishing domicile in the State, as specified in Sec. 383.71(b) of this title.
