Exclamation How many days to transfer CDL to another state? CR England may be lying...

Thanks for all of the advice when I first started posting on here. I've actually made it through about 10 days of CR England school and should have my CDL Friday IF....

they don't send me home. I was told repeatedly by the DMV and looking online that you have 30 days by federal law to transfer your CDL license from the state your school was in (Utah) to where you live (in my case, Georgia.) However, CR England wants to send me off immediately on the road next week after orientation and says I have 60 days to switch my license, but can't guarantee when I will be home to do that.

I also only have a 3-month DOT health card and have to see a physician here to have a test conducted for sleep apnea to get my 2-year card.

So my question is does ANYONE know the real scoop on how many days I have until the time limit is up on legally switching my license to my home state/home address? And any experience with CR England on when I will actually get anywhere near my home state?

They are saying they will send me home now and I can come back later (which is stupid since I'm getting my license on Friday) if I want to take care of this business now, which makes NO sense since I just want to transfer my license over and get my health card dealt with! UGH! Any help? Thanks so much!

How can you even think that CR England (or any mega company) would LIE to you?

Get real man...they tell you what they want you to know, not what you want to hear...but then again...I COULD BE LIEING

Angry

An update - just for ASKING if I would have a chance after orientation next week to switch my license over and get my dr. appt (I was told to talk to my recruiter), the "Dean" decided I should go home and "take care of my business" - what ever that means - and come back when I'm ready. This was within 10 minutes of asking this. I was then escorted off property by security without getting a chance to talk to the "Dean" and ask what was going on! This JUST happened within the last hour.

My head instructor was understanding enough after a talk and let me stay another night here until I can talk to someone in the morning so I wouldn't be stranded at the Greyhound station with no money like they were about to do to me!

They have no grounds to send me home on asking a question, correct? A question that any intelligent and forward-looking person might ask? I'm supposed to do my pre-trip tomorrow and driving test on Friday and get my license, so what is all this mess??? Anyone ever dealt with this? WHAT IS UP WITH THIS COMPANY???

And still NO ANSWER on when I'm suppposed to transfer my license over from them - just "60 days, we'll try to get you home sometime then" and then I'm kicked out now? This better be straightened out tomorrow morning. I don't know who to report them to if they don't let me finish school but I've been an excellent student and don't deserve this.

you better figure out how to calm down. the way i read it, you got better than one foot out the door right now. you said something, in some way, to really PO the "dean".

just relax and learn to go with the flow, you are a long way from home to be tossed out on your ear!

I've been very calm with them, and have tried and will try in a million different ways to just explain I was simply trying to ask a question about regulations and am willing to go out with a trainer next week. However, INSIDE of me is where I'm stressed! Especially now that I have to re-explain this to them again tomorrow morning and hope they let me stay in. Otherwise, I'll be sitting at a bus station with no way home.

I've made over 90% on all my tests and am completely in shock that they gave me the boot after simply asking a question AND following instructions to go to my recruiter to answer them, when instead my instructor said I should have asked him first - but I was only doing what administration had told me to do, by the book. I'm just disheartened at this point.

Look. You are in a very difficult situation here. You need to stay calm as a professional would do. If it were me in your shoes and I needed this job i would go with what they tell you for now and keep yourself in a job for now all the while trying to figure this out. If they tell you either let it go or leave then that choice is ultimately up to you but as I stated you HAVE 30 Days. If you have to go to the post office and get a PO box their for now to make it legal and figure it out as you go. This is not a RIGHT NOW EMERGENCY that has to be dealt with this second. If you need the job then relax and do as they tell you for now. I know it sucks and you should not be in this situation to start with but you are entering a career field that you will find yourself in these type of predicaments more than you will like but you have to learn how to deal with it. First ##### the situation and figure out if it's a RIGHT NOW EMERGENCY and proceed accordingly. Look at the BMV ( Bureau of Motor Vehicles ) website for your state and be sure. It is 30 days in my state however it could different elsewhere but i think it is 30 everywhere. Stay calm and work through the situation. trust me you will come to alot worse bumps in the road than this if you stay trucking for any amount of time. Best of Luck to you.

Thank you! I think I just got freaked out when armed security came out to escort me off property without a chance to even ask why. I did not have a choice to make. Although, as I've been here I've seen them boot people out for no reason. I've heard a lot of CR England horror stories. I'm very professional with them regardless. I cooperated with them when they escorted me out, and had a great talk with my instructor which led me to be able to stay the night and talk to whomever this dean is in the morning. Usually once you leave, you're gone, so I guess I did something right.

Also, today happens to be the exact day when according to my contract I owe them the full amount of tuition money whether I am sent home or not, quit, etc. Just made me wonder....

I'll check that website out; that'll help a lot. Thanks again!

Excellent, most excellent. Thought my father was talking to me there over the chess board...40 years ago, but still fresh in my mind...I do miss those days!
