I don't know, how did you lose your cdl? Do you know anyone heading towards where you live? Maybe you could get a ride with them?

Being stranded is not a good feeling at all. I hope you can find a way home soon.

Not in the least.

There are no laws that require an employer provide you a ride home upon termination or loss of your CDL.

Ditto, They just have to give you a chance to get your stuff and get out. Give you your final pay check and say "see ya". Sad but true.

I believe that this is correct. I think they have to give you your paycheck when they terminate you, in which case the only way you will be broke, is if you have had so many draws, that you don't have a check coming.

But then I have to ask myself, "since there are so many laws that differ in trucking, from the rest of the working world, perhaps this is included." I also have to wonder how they handle it, if they terminate you away from a terminal.

In any case, if you lost your CDL, it was your doing. It was not done to you. Not trying to get you upset, or to make things any worse than they are. In fact, I wish you the best of luck, knowing that each and every one of us has screwed up at some time or another.

But I really wonder why you would think the company would provide your transportation home.

If they fire you they can give you your final pay up-front or make you wait until payday. Some states even say they can wait as long as 30 days to settle up with you.

my friend youhave no idea how many times i have run acroos this situation and it is a problem and to make it worse legally there is not a thing you can do about it , your in fact at the companys mercy they dont have to give you a ride home , most will tell you to just get off there property and in fact most wont even pay you the money owed tou as a driver your at the complete mercy of the company, i have helped many a drive in that situation and there are a helluva lot more that i dont no about it happens every day now i dont no the situation regarding your cdl and its none of my business but we all screw up from time to time but dont look for any sympathy from the company, thats why i own my own trucks just dont do the company thing.
i wish you the very best of luck.------southernpride

If you can't stash a $100 bill in your wallet, and save it for an emergency, then its a long walk home. Come on people.............
They gave you a job, they didn't take you to raise. Think about it..............
