I'm sorry but that's just plain sugar coating a fact. You can compare this situation as the same. "I would like to get a job as a bank teller but I have robbed banks when I was a kid". 1 DUI and you get a second chance, 2 or more you don't.

OK for one, if you have "4 DUI'S" I would shocked to see if you even had your CDL yet, and two if you have a perfect driving record then why are you haveing issues finding a job? I am not trying to single you out, I totally understand your situation. But like these guys have said, I would not want you in my truck with a huge rap sheet on DUI's that is a huge liability. Yes we all make mistakes in life I have made plenty my self. I will admit I out ran 5 cops when I was a kid in my pickup buy guess what I am dealing with that mistake as I speek and that was over 5 years ago. Can I have a CDL? yes I can, am I insuable? it depends on the company I will work for... I have yet to set foot in a truck on my own and I have a CDL. There is one thing I have never done in my life, I have never Drank and Drove. Drinking and Driving is very STUPID! You will never drive a truck for another company unless it is your own bottom line... and then you will have to deal with DOT on top of that, they are looking for guys like you to take off the road and keep others safe. Bottom Line.

Good Luck to you and hope you are able to find a job that fits you best. We all pay for our mistakes one way or another.

That's just not true. There are companies that will hire a driver with a DUI after so many years and there's companies that will not touch them. But DOT has no idea what a driver has unless they pull his or her record and they are not going to do that unless there's cause. I believe a person has a right to fix himself and I think the companies that are not so critical should give them a shot. But it should only be 1 DUI and that person must go through an approved rehab and get reinstated by the MRO or whatever the company wants to call it.

Kansas, For you without sin cast the first stone. I have 20 years experience OTR and Local and failed random drug test 3 years ago. Boss sent me to rehab with DOT certified counselor and met all DOT requirements for return to work with no problems since and still had a job. Due to the recession I lost that job last year and no trucking company will hire me and everywhere I go their are dozens of others applying for a job and get hired with a better record than mine. Lose everything you have and don't get a break and see how it is.
