Doing a last minute scramble to get my taxes finished this weekend. I was with a company last year for only 3 months as a lease/owner/op and left because they couldn't get me the miles I needed. I plan on trying to get all I can of course, deducting my payments, fuel, per diem, maintenance, cell, etc but I'm unsure which forms I need to fill out. The rest of the year I drove as a company driver and I have my W2 for that as well as the weekly settlement emails I received as a lease-op. I'm tired and clueless :biggrin_2556: , please help... thanks!

    Procrastinating are we? :biggrin_2559:

I would use the free TurboTax online. It's one software that recognizes transportation workers. It'll walk you through everything. You can get to it through the IRS.gov website.

    At minimum you'll need
    1040
    Schedule A
    Schedule C

On them forms you will find any supporting form numbers you might need.
Don't forget your "Right to Work" credit. It has the form # on the 1040.
There's additional worksheets for 401K withdrawals. mortgages and energy credits if that applies.

I was also curious what the IRS form number is for applying for a refund for fuel road tax on miles driven on toll roads.

Sorry ryevick! I didn't see your post. You should been able to enter a W-2 or say no. Then there was other on the lists including 1099's.

Are you still having problems? Maybe I can take a screen shot.

    ryevick Thanks this.

I see where I can enter a W2 in Turbotax... but I don't have a W2 to enter for the 3 months as a lease operator and I'm not suppose to right? I only have the settlement sheet. I will attach it in this reply. It's no secret I didn't make money with this company so I have nothing to hide :biggrin_2559: The YTD column shows the totals from my time there.

A screen shot would be great! I really have no idea where I need to input this info and what info I need to input from it. Thanks so much for your help by the way :biggrin_25519:

You lease, your employer should of gave you a 1099. That's what you use on TurboTax also.

I will have to contact them because I haven't seen it. Could you do a screen shot and show me where Turbotax ask for a 1099 and not the W2?

    Thanks
