if you are a company hand, dont worry bout it.take the standard deductions, you'll come out ahead.just make sure they know your a driver not a 7=11 clerk.its a different ball game and some of those knuckle heads dont know sh-t about it.

you should have much more than that....you could have up to 15000.00.on meal breaks alone.thats claiming about 285 days out on the road..how many nights did you did you stay out last year..even your personal deduction is about 3500

You also need to file form 2106 to get your $59.00/Day M&E deduction. That in itself should give you over $10,000.00 deduction to add to your other deductions.
This is of course depending if you are OTR and not a local driver.

I would HOPE an O/O would have expenses substantially higher than that pittance.

I'd hope so too. But these days, you never know without actually asking now.

as a company driver? absolutely not. wouldnt even worry about keeping receipts...unless you pay mortgage interest on a home you own, youll almost never be able to compete with the standard deduction. also, anyone that can figure out all of their expenses can do their own taxes...why are you giving away your hard earned money to block? they are around to prey on the weak minded and lazy...neither of which i assume you are. turbo tax will let you do your federal return for free, and charge around ($40??) for your state return. this is basically the same computerized "follow the bouncing ball" thing that block uses.

look at it this way...block employee is to tax preparer as student driver is to experienced truck driver. with some help from turbo tax, or even doing it on paper with a little research, 90% of americans will do a better job doing their own returns than taking it to a "tax preparation mill". the 10% are business owners, farmers, clergy, and those with IQs less than 90. save your money.
