road tax average per year?

    Hey, anyone know how much road tax an average O/O pays per year running all 48 states and average about 120k -140k miles a year? thanks. trying to figure the operating costs of truck per mile.

    Don't quote me on this, But I believe the max is arouund 550 a year for the road tax. I'm basing this off of a conversation with the IRS agent at the Blue Book Convention. You will also get a credit for the truck if you trade that truck in, but if you buy a new truck you will get taxed for the unused portion for the rest of the year. So if you trade your truck don't foget to ask for the credit.

    I believe the form in 2290..

    That is if we are talking about the road tax.

    There is no way to compute this as the road tax you pay depends on how many miles you run in each state. That is in addition to the 2290 Heavy Highway Use Tax that you pay each year which is $550.00. You report and pay those on a quarterly basis.

    What he is talking about I believe is road tax which is computed from the actual miles you run in each of the states. What you are talking about is the annual fee that you pay every year in addition to road use taxes.
