You will need to use a 1040 ES and then pay the quarterly estimates.

 

The tax forms you file will depend on whether you run under your own authority or lease to a carrier and whether you operate as a proprietorship, partnership, LLC or corporation.

 

Since the poster already has the 1040ES, it is safe to assume he is not a corporation or other entity. It is why I never brought them up to cloud the issue.

 

I don't like to assume anything at this stage. He could have picked up the form by mistake, or he could be a proprietorship. It would be helpful to know more about his business in order to make the best recommendations.
