I bought a truck from Modern Fleet Truck Sales Inc in Lowell, NC in January 2014 after i drove and spent a total of $7,000.00 as deposit and expenses to go get the truck plus drove the truck home. I booked my first load with the truck then the engine lights came on when i took it to a mechanic found out truck coolant is leaking everywhere so i called John which was the guy who sold me the truck after i asked him why he sold me a truck with a coolant leaks he responded his mechanic checked the truck and nothing was wrong with it i replied i only drove from your dealer to my house then he replied bring the truck back if my mechanic can't fix it then i'll give you another truck. I took truck back then gave me another truck before i left i specifically asked him is this truck going to be the same as the other one he replied "no, this truck has an overhauled done, it's 515hp, 10 speed and full of warranty". When i took truck to my mechanic the first act i got from my mechanic was laugher he told me that the truck did not get an overhaul, it's only 450hp and it has a coolant leak also but not major so i called john back and explained to him what my mechanic said and he responded "maybe you shouldn't be an owner operator maybe you should go sell cars instead" i was like wow really well now i am stucked with this truck no overhaul with coolant leak plus i have to make $40,000.00 monthly payments worth to them. I would suggest no drivers should go to this dealer to purchase a truck. They are the true meaning of RIPOFF.

I'm sure it is a total of $40K in payments that are made in monthly installments of a far lesser amount.
    Not $40K per month.

Isn't it possible to have your own mechanic check out the truck BEFORE purchasing it? I thought that was SOP.

It would cost me more than $40k because I live least 1,000 miles from dealer.

Never buy a truck without your mechanic looking it over, if you are not familiar with machinery.Owner / Operator 101, page 1.

Yes, if I were going to buy a truck 1000 miles away the first thing I'd do is find a reputable mechanic near the dealership or point of sale. I'd insist on being able to have my mechanic check it out, including a dyno test and oil analysis. There's just no way I'd rely on the word of a salesman to tell me the condition of the truck.
