HVUT is filed with IRS as mentioned in earlier response it has nothing to do with IFTA. It is simply $550 for a year, which you can easily file online and pay via EFTPS. IRS efile offers 2290 online filing, you only have to establish the account for the first time via an authorised agent, they charge about $29.00
Most of the filings you should be able to do on your own and they are available online. For one truck I do not see any point of going to a third party to manage. Its one time learning and once you know it, you are through. I got all my permits and authorities on my own, believe me I will cost you 10% of what these agents would ask you. Contact me for any filing and permits, I will walk you through. Except for BOC3
My accountant was asking me $300 and I never went to see her again, even though she was pretty, thats too much for me, specially when we have so many good software in the market. On my last tax filing, i was able to get $700 more than what Liberty was able to come up with, I used Turbo Tax.
And you need to check with your company what they are filing for you and what you are suppose to get on your own, usually they want you to pay HVUT and keep IFTA for themselves, saves them money.
