The RRSP deadline has come and gone and for most of us, so has the opportunity to take a deduction to reduce taxable income. However, over the next couple of weeks, we're going to look at some of the specific ways people can reduce the bill they pay.
While most employees aren't entitled to claim specific expenses, there are some groups that are allowed to deduct costs they incur in helping their employers generate revenue.
Today, we're going to consider a select group that can deduct meals with a minimum of paperwork. These people spend much of their lives on the road.
Until recently, a person who drove a truck may not have necessarily been a truck driver in the eyes of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA).
