That's why many of us work on percentage with a guaranteed minimum rate per mile . :yes2557::yes2557:

Rick, are you o/o? If so, how long?

    I'm curious:

If you were to take the actual miles you run and assign a CPM value to them based on your driving experience, say like: 25-27 CPM for less than a year, 30-33 CPM for 1-3 years, etc,( I see you have been driving total 35yrs) how much more money per mile do you see running like that compared to a set rate per mile?

How much do the companies usually pay on the minimum?

How often would you estimate you run at the guaranteed minimum.

I'm a company driver . My guaranteed rate is $.40 a mile . We just have a couple of older accounts where I get the minimum . One is a dedicated run from KY to Houston and back . It's right at 2,000 miles and takes 3 1/2 days . My percentage of the gross would be $700 so they add $100 every trip . Most trips pay considerably better . I have another 3 day run that pays $800 .

I like the guys thoughts but it'll never happen. They'll keep it borderline where they can keep the seats barely filled.

Any added expenses and more companies will go under. If the companies earn extra revenue, they'll keep it.
