I can't even imagine but I bet thousands went out of business when our economy took a dive including many owner ops.

Thats what happens when u keep hauling cheap freight. Sooner or later it catches up to u. One of life's lessons. Trucking is just not for everyone. Being an o/o is for even less poeple.

I made $10,000 less in 2012 than the previous year and it has NOTHING to do with 'cheap freight'. It's (policies) driving the economy and the nation into a hole, regulating things that don't have positive outcomes, overtaxing businesses who have to compensate for losses to make profit by raising the prices of goods and services, the higher cost of fuel causes a rise in transportation costs and a dozen other things that are destroying the working man's ability to make a living.

I'm off the soap box... just got a little upset about that comment and it's trivial impact on the overall scheme of things.

I'll stand down now and let the pot boil over.

I made 15,000 more than I did last year. So, I know where yours went.

According to NASTC 85 percent of new entrants went out of business before completing 18 months.

I know it was probebly alot but its going to be alot more, first of all the trucking industry has changed so much its not even funny! All these companies ripping off the drivers for one! Household use to be the highest paying trucking job well now alot of the companies are ripping off the owner operator drivers big time!!!!!!!! You reep what you sow therefore their will be alot more companies going out of buissness they will go bankrupt you will see!

Alot of these companies are ripping off the owner operator drivers!sometimes the drivers dont find out about these different companies until its too late and that is sad because families have to suffer do to the beatin and cheating going on with the pay! Its not right that the companies get away with it,many men and women are away from their families trying to make a honest living to support their families and their should be a way to report these companies to be investigated to put a stop to it!
