NEW CASTLE -- Alexis Vanover has a new appreciation for the drivers of big rigs who share the highways with other motorists.

That's because the William Penn High School sophomore got to see the world as they do: from the driver's seat of a 70-foot tractor-trailer.

It was all part of a "NO ZONE" demonstration, presented to about 210 of the school's driver's education students by Master Cpl. Dean Anderson of the Delaware State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Unit.

The program aims to educate young drivers about the hazards associated with driving around large commercial vehicles and how to be aware of the danger areas --or blind spots -- around trucks and buses where accidents are most likely to occur.
