| Freeriding the government sucks, but... Freeriding the government sucks, absolutely, but if I were going to get into trucking today, I'd get something like the HOPE grant to pay for it. No way would I pay for truck-driver training with my own funds. Already did that once and regret it to this day. And why shouldn't the working class ask for government help? Plenty of folks a lot better off than I am are sucking all kinds of government sugar titties. One group doing plenty of sucking is the military. That leech is scarfing down over 400 billion tax dollars out of our pockets each year, and look at what the common grunt gets for that money: flimsy tents that blow down in the desert wind and drinking water that gives soldiers diarhea, not to mention the humvees that have unrolled beer cans for floorboards. Where is the 400 billion per year going? I can't imagine what 400 billion would look like. I wonder how high 400 billion in ones would go? I do know that if I went back in time 400 billion seconds, it'd be about the year 10,500 BC. 400 billion, and that's for only one year. Those new f-22s had better be able to go at light speed. Of course, many trucking companies get a government kick-back on each student they hire that graduate from training schools. Schools that many of those same companies own. I'm sure this runs into the tens of millions, if not the hundreds of millions of dollars a year. Everybody else seems to be sucking the titty. I'd be sucking it too if I had a reason.

| Why not everyone dip hands into the Government Coffers Quote:
No one in the United States of America who has any vision and ambition should be needy upon retirement; yet the majority are. The Land of Opportunity and most stick their noses in the air when asked to participate in their own salvation. ![]() |

| Can't argue with that, brother I can't argue with you, brother. I agree with you 100%. The biggest problem in the USA is the fact that people MUST rely on the government in some cases. Think about those people who curse government interference in their lives, yet come crawling to the governnent when a tornado or flood destroys their castles. Of course, the government obliges, although the idiots knew about flood risk and tornado risk, yet bought no flood or tornado insurance. If I play right and buy insurance, I'm playing the fool. No thanks. I'll save that money and rely on the government when the time comes just like everybody else. And don't get me started on all the free rides farmers and ranchers get. It's no wonder some farms out west with nothing going for them are selling for big bucks. There's a sugar titty behind the scenes, that's why. If I buy one of those ranches, I want the titty that goes with it, boy! Freeloading is a fact of life these days. Lots of folks do it. And we let 'em do it.

Complacency Apathy Social Dependence (learning that Government has free money) of which bankrupts the nation and leads everyone into slavery. Louisiana's problems were not the problems of the Federal Government, but the Fed's got blamed. The fact Louisiana was a welfare state is part of the reason things fell apart during and after the storm. The School buses that became immersed in water were enough to carry the poor to safety, yet they did not move. The Mayor of New Orleans and the Governor o the State were responsible for the problems Louisiana suffered, but the people who accepted the life of nothing because welfare was so easy have no one to blame but themselves. The trashed the centers provided for care during this time and terrorized as well as raped women and created a lot of fear on top of the devastation. This is a good look at what dependence upon government will do to any State or Country by people who are so blind. Thos who know better practice Capitalism because they know they can't live off of the scrapes fed from the Socialist table. Government and politicians are necessary but to place all your trust in them is to be foolish. |

| Trucker Shot In California Quote:
Social Dependence leads into Poverty. From poverty we see all kinds of criminal activity. What a shame we live in such a paradise that likewise, very dangerous. I remember struggling to avoid hitting criminals that were trying to get hit by a truck on I - 10 on three separate occasions many years ago. 1990 - I believe. My truck never touched the bumper of any of those characters, but on the 3rd occasion, I had to slam on my breaks a 3rd time as they did not want to give up. I was almost at a stand still when they finally drove off. A few years later, I pulled out of Kraft in LA, cutting across Anaheim to get to Ontario on the 4th of July when there was a gang bang shoot out in the middle of the interstate. I was lucky enough to take an exit, cut left to Orangethorp and make a right to get around that mess. Bodies laying in the street according to the CB. Other incidents around LA made me well aware, life did not mean much to some people in California. |

| Sad Yes, it is getting bad in a lot of places. Very angry people today on top of those who just have no clue what life is supposed to be. I don't see it getting any better until people wake up and make the changes necessary in this country of ours. Same problems in England and lots of problems across areas of Europe. Be safe out there. |
