Plains states waive trucking rules Plains states waive trucking rules 7/9/07 Quote: Minnesota and South Dakota have waived hours-of-service restrictions for fuel haulers, while Kansas has waived restrictions because of flooding. Gov. Tim Pawlenty of Minnesota signed an emergency executive order June 29 to ease distribution of gasoline and diesel. Minnesota’s waiver is good until July 19. Pawlenty said many motor fuel terminals outside cities were experiencing difficulties in obtaining their full supply of gasoline. South Dakota imposed a similar waiver through July 19, said a state trucking association representative. North Dakota Gov. John Hoeven imposed a similar waiver June 29 that ended July 7. Hoeven said a slowdown at a Minnesota refinery and increased fuel demand for the July 4 holiday had hurt the fuel supply. e-trucker article-continues

Funny how safety goes out the window when these things happen. It would have been safer to let the "non-essential" 4-wheelers stay parked, rather than giving them fuel to vacation/party/visit. Simply rationing the fuel....would have been "safer". It takes no more than a tank for most, when you just do the essential travelling. After all the HOS was designed with public safety in mind. God Forbid a sleepy truck driver keep anyone from going to the baseball game this weekend. __________________ He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance........ He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his assent to their acts of pretended legislation: Declaration Of Independence __________________ King George or Obama ????

There pretty good states to run through with out being hassled.. But if it was VA. or any of these other blood sucking states that like to collect tolls on there roads, I would be late
