Sure, always a possibility. I don't discount that. But the circumstances as described, along with the simple fact this ####### was DUI, is plenty enough me for me anyway.
Am I biased against drunk drivers? #### right I am. And I make no apologies for it.

don't get me wrong, I have no tolerance for it either, but the article and the pictures don't tell the entire story -
I see that it was dark and overcast and that the bobtail is painted black.
What was the speed limit at the intersection, how fast was the Tahoe traveling?
At what point did the bobtail begin the turn in relation to the position and speed of the Tahoe?
Why are you and others looking for justification to blame the Tahoe driver rather than a drunk driver, and contrary to the several eye witnesses to the fact?
Regardless of the possibility that the Tahoe driver may have been doing something such as texting as some are speculating, the fact remains that driving DUI is automatic fault, and even IF the Tahoe driver was doing something such as "texting" it does not absolve the trucker of DUI.joseph1135 Thanks this. -
A DUI is a DUI. I think some are questioning the manslaughter part.
From what I gather, the bobtail turned into the path of the oncoming Tahoe. Maybe, as truck drivers, we are conditioned to conclude the Tahoe driver should have seen it coming just like we should see it coming. There is not really enough info in the article to determine anything. -
