Highway 290 inbound remains closed following fiery fatal crash-

This is exactly why I no longer brake or move for cars cutting in too close. I've had one collide with my left steer trying to cut in at a toll booth, and another collide with my right steer trying to cut me off while merging. Both drivers received citations along with likely expensive repair bills, and I had to replace some lug nut covers. Swerving away and / or braking hard could have had consequences similar to what the article above shows.

edit: As a side note, my employers categorized both incidents as non-preventable, and neither incident was DOT reportable as nobody was injured, and no vehicles were towed.
