Just because a driver has elogs doesnt mean they always run legal... even with elogs there are ways around things... I must admit, I have had to.. well, choose to.. be outside the lines while on elogs... a couple of time I pushed the limits and had to fudge.. get personal drive time to finish a load... and a couple of times I had to jig with my qualcomm to get farther down the road to where I wanted to park, even though I passed a couple place I cojld park along the way.. I only went an extra hour or so... the second time I did it, I did a call from logs and safety.. but no ### chewing or anything.. just had to give them some buyable bs... I am sure they knew it was bs.. what I did was kept reseting or rebooting my qualcomm.. so of course they had to. neck as to why my qualcomm was rebooting for over an hour.. I told them I accidentally pressed the button and it got stuck and I didnt notice until mucn later.. they asked if it was working fine now and told me if I keep having problems to use paper logs and get to a terminal to get it fixed...

However, those are exceptions... I do not do it often.. I started with a company that had us run two log books and run around scales... however, that is the reason I left... their drivers were getting violations.. a cojple had their CDL revoked... not a risk I am willing to take.. but I disagree witth yoj that it takes more skill.. now that I am for the most part running legal.. I have to plan my time and trips better.. were running illegal books was just a mater of maki g kt look rignt on paper... kind of like when I was in school learning logs and logging fictitious trips... takes little skill..
