Road rage incident lands trucker in jail

Road rage incident lands trucker in jail

Quote:
A Canadian truck driver is in jail on a $20,000 cash bond after investigators say he rammed another vehicle during a road rage outburst on Interstate 90/94.
Winnipeg resident Marc R. Saurette, 29, faces five counts of first-degree reckless endangerment after an incident on July 13, according to Sauk County Circuit Court records.
According to a Wisconsin state trooper, the drivers of a van and an SUV were traveling west on the highway near Lake Delton when Saurette cut off the driver of the SUV. The driver of the van, Michael Meade, said he and the other driver became angry with Saurette, moved into the westbound lanes ahead of him, then slowed down to 55 mph and prevented him from passing.

There is more to this obviously.

Road Rage is an induced emotion, and usually taken out on the person that induced it.

Interesting.. seems like there was a bit of road rage on the van and SUV drivers behalf as well... yet the tone of the article seemed to make hero's out of them for slowing down the truck. I do wish that the trucker hadn't have said that he didn't care about causing an accident. I'm sure it was made out of anger in the moment... BUT it will just strengthen the case for road rage

There is a natural emnity between big trucks and 4-wlrs!! We're different 'animals' trying to share the same over-crowded hwys. The past 7+ yrs since I've been driving truck it has gotten worse! Wont be getting any better in the future. Whether ppl act road rage 'out' or not, the bad attitudes and rudeness are still out there!!

What the heck were the drivers of the van and suv thinking? I thought there was somthing on the books that said you are not suppose to block up the road like that unless it can't be avoided. If not, there should be. That to me is extremely dangerous.

Further more, there were three kids in one of those vechicles. Did the dad have a death wish, or what? I'm not clear if they were in the suv or minivan. If the truck rammed the back hard enough, those kids very well could have been killed.

I'm sorry, 4 wheelers cut off truckers every single minute of the day on the roads. I bet there isn't a day that hasen't gone by that any of you haven't been cut off. The trucker was just doing what everyone else did to him.

Also, I would like to know if the trucker actually thought he was cutting off the other vechicle or leaving enough room. I wonder if the other vechicle was speeding up just so the trucker wouldn't get in front of him. Then accused the trucker of cutting him off. Exactly how is each person defining being cut off?

I guess it really comes down to perspective. The trucker may have really cut him off, or the other driver just thought the trucker did.

Jeeze people, grow up. You don't play around large trucks and get them po'ed. If you get them po'ed at you on the road, you must have a death wish.
