Anybody see this? Truck almost takes out school bus

Some may play dodge the deer / big game .. its not the same with people

 

Go back and watch the video again....that bus was cruisin' up to that driveway, and it looked like, to me anyways, that the bus stopped pretty quick....the cars on the left don't even hesitate which lead me to believe the bus driver waited until the last minute to turn the lights on and stop. Probably the driver wasn't paying attention but it seems to me a little blame can be placed on the bus driver too. After all, bus drivers aren't professionals.

 

I don't know, and I'm not making any big judgments about the bus driver or truck driver.

I'm questioning the practice of coming to a dead stop in the middle of a high speed roadway to let children out - as evidenced by this video clip a safer practice should be considered.

 

I have yet to see a bus driver stop quick.This driver was going slow then stopped.Trk driver also passed from the shoulder like a speed of lightning.Look at the video again and also look how much dust the trucker stirred as he illegally passed the school bus.

 

Does'nt matter,whether this bus was about to stop or not you do not pass any vehicle the way this trucker did.Not caring not thinking not even looking.He also forced the oncoming car off the road.The less drivers like that we have the better off we are.

 

I understand what you're saying but other then not having bus service I don't think they have much choice.

 

I'm seeing stimulus money being spent so it isn't "lost". Spend some of it on enlarging the shoulder in a few places just big enough for a pull over. Or, maybe the bus could pull down a feeder road / driveway.

If that truck would have plowed into the back of the school bus at that speed, we'd be having a sad conversation right now.

 

Lots of times school buses stop in places that I may not agree with--& I DO sometimes wonder who/what does their routing etc......
BUT---lets just be realistic here--your driving along its just before/after school time---school bus up ahead-houses along the sides of the road---ANY even 1/2 assed driver KNOWS this bus just might do something----so you slow down pay attention----No Excuse for this behavior---No None Nada Zip
As for punishment--jus lock em up













And tell all his roomates---He's a child molester.....

When I drove for kb there was a few school buses I had to stop for every morning.Some I had to stay behind for miles till they turn.One thing everybody needs when driving is patience.
