No one controls what you do on the time off. I have seen where he lives in Delaware temporarily.

Right nor should anyone control what you do in your time off.
However IF he did for some reason drive from Ga. to work and continue to drive his shift 10-11 hrs?? (I understand he was an hour from the end of at the time of the accident)

So, he was legal for the driving and the logs were in compliance. It is only speculation what he did on time off.

Have you been 100% rested each and every time you get behind the wheel?

What did you do before getting on duty when on home time?

Thanks for the link, well some of it touched based with what I was referring to. In the end we all are human, sh** happens! Even to the best of us. I do know WM has one of the safest fleets out there. The requirements to be a part of the private fleet is second to none.

My own significant other waited over 3 years to become a part of. One of the highest paid and a good reason for it. His driving experience stretches from England 10 + yrs. to the USA 9+ yrs. with no serious infractions on his driving record. Something WM requires for 3+ years before hire.

In any case his was a sad tragic circumstance that unfortunately involved a high profile person. The media just LOVES to dog on the truck driver in these events!

not since they took away my ability to do a 5 and 5 split. I can only sleep about 5 hours at a time to tired to stay awake for 5 on the 10 so just getting up now passout first 5 and wait bored for 2 or 5 hrs depending on if I am doing a split that night then a bit tired before even starting.

That's me!! No matter how tired I am, 5 hours is about it and I'm up. Have to use the head if nothing else.... Then I can't go back to sleep, unless it's after I've been up about 4 hours. Then I can sleep real well!

The only way to make the general public appreciate us is to stop delivering their stuff. The ignorance spread by those who don't know is overwhelming. But we are all to selfish to do this and it will only get worse. I have friends in this industry who have been trying to work with politicians for years to make things better and diplomacy has lost. Things need to get better but I guess they have to get worse before that happens. We all have bills to pay but wouldn't a 2 week sacrifice be worth a lifetime of better standard of living?
