Truck stop employee says Facebook video helped her ID missing teen, perp By Greg Grisolano, Land Line staff writer
A cashier at a Louisiana truck stop is crediting a video on Facebook for helping her identify a missing Florida teenage girl.
The cashier, Fawn Domingue, said she recognized the missing 16-year-old, from a video she had seen earlier in the day on Nancy Graces Facebook page. The teen had been missing from her home near Tampa, Fla., since June 11.
I knew exactly who it was the second I laid eyes on her, Domingue said in an interview with Land Line Now news anchor Reed Black.
The girl was traveling with 41-year-old Steven Myers, a registered sex offender from Florida. The pair entered the Tiger Truck Stop in Grosse Tete, La., at around 9:40 p.m. on Wednesday, as Domingue was closing out her shift.
Domingue said she went to the back of the store to watch the video again while her boss completed the pairs transaction. Once she knew for certain it was the missing girl, she said she told her coworkers to call police, and followed them into the parking lot.
According to reports, Myers was just pulling out of the parking lot in a pickup truck when the first deputy showed up on the scene. The pickup was later identified as having been stolen in the Florida Panhandle. A high-speed chase ensued, lasting roughly 40 miles of Interstate 10 to Lafayette, La., before police were able to use stop sticks to disable the pickup.
Police said Myers stabbed his teenage victim eight times, before stepping out of the vehicle and confronting police. He then stabbed himself multiple times. Both were listed in serious but stable condition at area hospitals.
Myers is facing charges of attempted murder and unlawful sexual activity, according to reports.
The teen is bipolar and had left her medications behind, reports said. Although authorities have stated that the girl was not kidnapped, it is believed that Myers manipulated her to go with him, law enforcement authorities have stated.

Glad she was found, but not the end results. Too many kids are being taken advantage of like this and there is not much that can be done in a lot of cases beforehand, esp if someone didn't know she was talking with the guy to begin with. Scary.

Awesome looking out on the cashier's part. She probably saved that girl's life. I think we as truck drivers should start a GoFundMe or something and gone her a little vacation as thanks.
