I passed through Sioux City, Iowa this week heading south on I-29. I was going through a construction zone. The speed limit was 65 mph. Abruptly the speed limit changes to 55 mph. And they have radar/cameras sitting on both sides of the highway. Have any of you passed through there lately and noticed this? I guess I'll be getting a picture in the mail of my vehicle tag soon..lol. By the time you can slow down to 55mph. They have already got a pic.

They have had those up there for a couple of years now, I just run 55 thru there all the time, they are constantly moving those cameras around also.

Yes, its easy revenue enhancement in a lot of construction zones. The solution: don't friggin speed.

Construction around that area is worse in some areas then others. My advice once you see construction signs start slowing down and remain slow till the end of the zone.

Those got a picture of me about 2 years ago roughly. Saw the flash in the mirror and looed at my speed, I was at 60 mph and honestly never saw that 55 sign before that, I saw one after about 1/2 mile but never before. Never heard anything about it either so......

I go thru that construction zone almost every day.It starts shortly after Sargeant Bluff exit and ends before the Floyd blvd exit I think.I have never noticed cameras looking for speeders.I will from now on though.Like I said just stay at a slow speed till you get thru all of it because there are mixed speeds,65,55 and 50.

I'll remember that next time. I was doing the speed limit posted. I just never expected it to change that quick. Then have cameras set up to catch you. From the time you see the 55 mph sign from 65mph. It's to late the cameras got you..lol....they don't give you any time to slow down.

Around Council Bluffs, Iowa, what are all those new trucks sitting out in a field or big parking lot? You can see them from the interstate. There must be over 100 trucks just sitting. Is that a dealership?

That area is a mess, hard telling when they'll get done. Also when coming off the exit to go to the trk stop,be careful its a mess there too.

South of town, west side of the interstate? That is or was a holding lot for Freightliner, those are all trucks that they gave companies a guaranteed by back on, and dealers can by them at wholesale prices.
