Overdrive reports that the founder; Mike Parkhurst, died of a heart attack at age 81. Prayers go out to his family. Overdrive DEFINITELY has not been the same since he sold it!!!

There is a name I had not heard in years. He was for the trucker. No ifs , ands , or buts. Had a good magazine, always for the little man. RIP, Driver.

Definitely a maverick in the publishing biz. Time magazine did an interview once with him, they asked
"Why don't you accept advertising from certain companies like Ford Motor Company"
    His response:
"Because they build a crummy truck"

LOL..............ya gotta admit......the editorial side of Overdrive had definite opinions and advocated for the little guy under his leadership. It saddens me to see the advertising magazine it has become......with very weak, watered down editorial content.
