A truck driver from Texas was killed when he was caught between his trailer and another truck Monday morning. It happened at the Allen Distribution warehouse in South Middleton Township. Roger Fortune, 56, of Garland, Texas, was opening the trailer doors in the loading dock area. Another truck, driven by Mohamud Shil of South Sioux City, Nebraska, pulled in behind Fortune. When Shil hit his air parking brake, his truck kept rolling because the air supply was not fully applied, according to a release from State Police. Fortune was pinned between Shils truck and his own trailer. Fortune was taken to Hershey Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.
State Police are investigating the accident.

Please drive safely whether you're on the road or in the yard. Accidents like this one are completely avoidable.

So... I don't get it, shil pulled up behind Roger and decide not to use the foot brake but rather pulled the knobs before coming to a complete stop? And he was opening the trailer doors why is he pulling so close to him, just getting in the way
-
Yeah, I was trying to understand what exactly happened myself.
Obviously the striking truck was driven to the yard. Did the driver know there was a problem? Is it standard practice for this idiot to just pull the knob without applying the service brake? And if so, why pull in so close? Was speed a factor?
Lotta questions here. I'm gonna watch and see if there's any more news about this. -
Sad for the driver that was killed, but have seen drivers do this pulling into fuel islands or stopping to check in, you will see them slowing down then you will hear them pull the valves but the aren't completely stopped yet, no clue why they do it but have seen it.
