Parents searching for daughter in need of psychiatric care

One Pennsylvania couple is traveling across the country searching for their 37 year-old daughter who ran away as they were trying to take her to a psychiatric facility.

Nancy and Bill Bachman are traveling from Pennsylvania to California on Interstate 80
searching for their missing daughter, Susan Bachman. They stopped in Kearney Monday.

A flyer for Susan says she may be using an assumed name or refuse to give a name. She is experiencing paranoid delusions and may claim to work for a government agency or to be serving as a medical agent for truck drivers. She may appear lucid and sober, but make statements highly inconsistent with reality.

Susan went missing in Pennsylvania on July 4th, after jumping out of a car traveling at highway speeds.

She was last sighted by a security guard at a truck stop near Gary, Indiana on July 11th. She had hitched a ride with a truck driver. At the time, she was trying to get a ride westbound on I-80.

Now her parents are on the road trying to find Susan.

Susan is a white female, with freckles, green eyes and red hair. She is 5 ft. 4 in. and 140 lbs.

The story is making national headlines. If you have any information in the case,
please contact your local law enforcement. There is also a Facebook Page called Find Susan Bachman. You can also visit www.FindSusanBachman.com for more information.

Would it still be a joke if it was one of your family members that was missing?

I hope someone finds her, but there are so many people out there doing their own thing and a woman like this would just fade into the landscape. Hopefully a trucker might recognize her before she ends up getting hurt. Mental illness is a terrible disease.

I am sorry to read that this young women's life has ended so tragically. My condolences to her family.
It looks like that security guard at that truck stop near Gary IN, was mistaken. Maybe if he had not
told authorities he had seen her they would have concentrated their search in the area where she had
disappeared. She might have possibly been found in time to save her life, or at least give her loved ones
closure on her demise, instead of a never ending hopeless search for her.

My question is? They said she jumped from a moving vehicle on I80? How could she get away so fast? Something doesn't add up here, taking her to California from Pennsylvania? Why not get her help there, now they find her deceased! Something stinks in this situation
