Hi HWMNBN, I'm sorry if we don't see eye to eye. I try to get along with everybody(even though, some people "grind my gears" more than others) If I don't know what I'm talking about, I try to keep quiet, although, sometimes emotion gets the best of me, and I have been known to talk out of my posterior. If you don't agree with me on something, please let me know. I may be an old fart, but still want to learn if I'm wrong.

 

could not alot of this issue been solved by just not taking the load if he was tired? I'm just getting my CDL-A so Im not expert and wont pretend to be.

I do know I've never had a job where you could tell your boss at the last minute you cant complete a task you said you'd have done by a certain time and expect everyone to be ok with it.

Planning is pretty important to adult life

The emphasis is on " everything " ...... heck, I don't even agree with myself all the time. The emphasis was on the point I did agree with 100 %. What I meant was there are not that many posts that I can so wholeheartedly endorse. Savvy ?

Hi DieselCA, well, not really. There's been many times I've committed myself to a load, feeling pretty chipper at the time, and 4 hours later, felt like crap. I say, the whole thing could have been avoided with a little "power nap", set the alarm, maybe an hour, it would have got him to Chicago, and that would have fired him up, and Oak Creek isn't that far from Chicago, maybe an hour, and he would have been fine. I think, after hearing the other posts, he had other issues, and wanted to quit anyway.

The guy was probably upset that the driving was cutting into super trucker video time.. The dispatcher did handle it wrong but my guess is that the guy has been pushing buttons for awhile and the dispatcher had enough.. Hopefully he didn't have 4 or 5 other trucks waiting for his product elsewhere do the job you accept or say No upfront if your company can't handle the occasional No, quit them and move on

 

So, the link said the segment would be on last night. I TiVo'd it and everything. I saw a hit piece on auto mechanics and baristas, but not trucking.

I wonder if the segment got bumped, or if the askthetrucker dude was just wrong...

 

Or maybe omg should I even say it? An editor at a tv network did their job&some fact checking&realized it was Bogus.....hmm now wouldn't that be interesting?.....hmmmmm
