Then your definition of a monopoly is skewed and wrong. It's fine to be biased, just be factual as well and not ignorant.

Plausible deniability. They'd rather assume and be found guilty of 99% of the fault, than 100%. The stance they're taking in this is no different than what any other legal counsel would do. And they're right to do so.

Shorter Wally World: "Tracy Morgan and his friends were clearly asking for it, what with their non-seatbelt wearing ways and all."

It's similar to the "she was asking for it" rape defense. Blame/shame the victim.
Not wearing seat belts is stupid, though.

It's not the same at all. In civil court the plaintiff sues for compensation due to damages inflicted by the defendant. All the lawyer for Wal-Mart is saying is that the damages would be less if seat belts were worn. They are of course correct, the lack of seat belts is a factor in the amount of damage suffered. Wal Mart is just hoping that fact will play a role when damages are awarded.

You don't get it...he's driving a vehicle whom Walmart by means of hiring gave permission to operate and as an employee he's. Representative of the company therefore Walmart is liable just like the driver is..

So, what's wrong with Walmart? Lots of people want to work there. Lots of people want to drive for them. They have low prices and good selection. I'd be open to listening to an actual reason for the hatred, but I haven't heard one yet.

All this WM hatred, without a good reason - I call sour grapes.

BTW - WM lawyer did as he should have to limit / share responsibility. But in the end, Tracy and crew deserve and will get a big payday $$$. Just my prediction.

Walmart is credited with helping to keep a lid on inflation. And since they are one stop shopping, they save consumers time, fuel, and they keep travel distances down which in turn helps the environment. These are all major benefits for the economy and the consumer.

To be consistent, you should also blame McDonald's, Taco Bell, Subway, etc. etc. etc. for running out local restaurants.

Times have changed and it's not really any company's fault. It's called capitalism and this is how the American economy operates.
