Let's not go political. Don't want this one closed. I would love to know how one is a driver after more than one DUI? Nobody should be able to drive with more than one DUI. Hell one is too much.

The United States IS a nation of laws. When those laws are broken, punishment must be meted out.

It used to be swift, and harsh. Creating a sense of deternance.

Now, when pedophiles in WI are given 1 year jail, and 12 years probation for multiple felony counts of incest, molestation and assault (plead down of course to nothing). This was an actual case BTW, the convict was a 19 year old man who assaulted his two minor sisters, in their own home. The sentence above is what he got for his crimes.

As well as the multiple years worth of appeals. No we have an incredibly liberal judicial system. It is one that I like, don't get me wrong. But it could be strengthened as well.

Guys, i got friends and kinfolk that work in large truckstops and the stories they tell are unreal about drunk/stoned drivers staggering back to the truck in the lot, they come in looking around then buy beer, some stay in lots for days, some take off, i still cant figure how they get by doing this and wonder do they make the destination without incident. All workers there are supposed to call the police right then when this is the case, some do some dont but makes you think your on the road with them.

I always see them coming out of the TS with a 6 pack. To the truck. Always made me wonder how much of a lonely SOB to drink in the truck.

I do know this...if I see a trucker walk back to their truck with beer and then drive out...they will be reported to authorities...I have absolutely zero tolerance for dwi/dui...I don't care what anyone says about how I should mind my own business. But it is my business stop someone from driving intoxicated in any vehicle...if you're dumb enough to drink & drive in a cmv well then you lose your privilege to ever have a cdl again period...

The workers who do NOT call the police when seeing a drunk driver, especially in a commercial vehicle as a truck or bus, are either afraid of retribution or they are afraid of losing their jobs for being "tattle tales". It is a harsh world out there. For some people, it is more harsh than for others.

Not to me. I don't care what some of these miscreants think of me. And neither should anyone else.

What I always wondered is why They allow truck stops to sell alcohol? Don't you think that's a big
temptation for some people? This Industry is full of drivers with drug and alcohol problems. It always has been. This sort of thing happens every day. It
just doesn't get much publicity from the media. I
guess Ebola, terrorism and Ferguson MO, are a bigger threat to public safety. Oh ya, don't forget Wal Mart vs Tracy Morgan.

I think the biggest threat to the motoring public is truck drivers with poor training and little driving experience than drunk truck driver's. I think maybe they should start giving IQ test to drivers when they renew there CDL. Maybe a minimum IQ of about 90 would be a good start. Of course then
there really would be a driver shortage.
