"Parkways in the Northeast? - NO, a thousand times, NO."
This should be the good morning announcement of every CDL class and of every trainer, of every day when working with new driver wanna-be's. I mean it's not like any experienced driver doesn't know this. Pass along your knowledge and never assume it's common knowledge for all. Thank you.
And please don't tell me a trainer was driving OR a trainer was in the sleeper.Puppage Thanks this. -
8 feet? I am amazed the driver wasn't eye level with the overpass.
double yellow Thanks this. -
What?!?! Driver was using a.......GPS?!?!?!
I can't believe that! GPS' know everything!!! *eyeroll* -
Road crews in Chicago don't know everything either. I had a nice exit from a shipper worked out for myself and got detoured into a low clearance. I had to ask for help to get back out because the way they wanted me to go was 9" too low, per the signage.

...using GPS on his phone! That is a special kind of ignorant.

I have a rand McNally GPS for trucks and I still use my atlas and call the shipper/receiver for directions. No need for these kind of problems these days

What part of "Trucks stay on Thruways, Not Parkways" that driver not understand. They only have those signs all over NYS and NYC

Maybe when they attend Swifts Orentation next week they will be provided with a real GPS and Glasses so they could see the 8 foot bridge thats eye level with his head.
