Sunday the 16th. He had gone into a stall in the men's room and tried to cut his throat with scissors.
    He survived.

Prayers to the driver. This job with the isolation can really haunt a driver. What was the outcome and how did you know this happened ? Does the driver have someone to Talk to?

Won't be the first or last time a trucker attempts to end it the hard way...

I think this issue is not uncommon for truckers, at least some percent find that the lifestyle of living in their own personal prison during the long winters months can be very challenging.

OPUS 7 and tsavory Thank this.

Its probably a good thing you drive a truck and not work in the medical field.

Depression is very, very real. I deal with a very mild case, but my wife is a different story. In our candid conversations, she has spoken of many times where suicide was a viable option when her meds were not doing what they were prescribed to do. She's doing well now, but the battle for the right combination was a very long and painful one.

I also hope he gets the help he needs. It's out there. But you have to actively seek it out.
