This is not necessarily a permanent rollback of the 34hr provisions. The FMCSA will be required to do ANOTHER study, with input from the inspector generals office, to determine if the current 34hr law was justified. but I like this part..... no BS study like last time
""The amendment also contains a lengthy detailing of how the study will be conducted, peer reviewed and approved by the Department of Transportation Office of Inspector General.""
btw it passes in the house -
Looks like they rammed through the "Let's make it easier for Wall Street to bankrupt the country again" spending bill and the senate will pass it as well so unless something major happens the 34 hour restart provision is good as gone. One victory for us, one massive mistake for the the rest of the country. 'Murica.

OK...now that we are "clear" (for a year) on the two 0100-0500 periods and the once in 168 hours rule, for those of us on e-logs, how long will it take to "reboot" the system to be in compliance with the change? I wonder?
We use QuallComm, so I guess it will come from Quallcomm themselves....but what about the other 140+ systems that are in use? -
Grouch and drvrtech77 Thank this.
