So the trailer is from a company that didn't pay their fines, it just happened to be a reefer trailer.

I hope it works, when I was a Traffic Motor Officer my Lt. Asked if she could ride with me on my day off in my big truck. She wanted to see first hand about the stories I would tell about how badly people drive around us. She got an eye full before we ever got out on the interstate. She could not believe how I would just start slowing down for no apparent reason. She would ask what you doing I would say watch and some jack leg would pass me on double yellow to slam on breaks and turn into a parking lot without signal. She was able to get a federal grant for the traffic branch to do enforcement around trucks. It was a success of sorts but you could do it 24/7 365 and not make a dent in the idiot drivers.
tsavory, SHO-TYME, 77smartin and 1 other person Thank this. -
It can't hurt.....and I'm sure they didn't pay Anything for it.....and as for TN....theirs was dope confiscated&I've had coffe w/couple of Troopers who run it....and their OK in my book

Tennessee has 1 or 2 Pete 379s, fully marked and people do stupid stuff around them because they think there's not a trooper in the truck..
Most people wouldn't notice anyway since they have their head buried in their cell phone while driving anyway. -
Looks like an old sterling trk. Most likely a donation or confiscation. I think its a great idea. More states should have them and the truckers should be taxed for it.

Why should the TRUCKERS be taxed for it? We're already over-taxed. If the thing doesn't generate the revenue necessary to offset the operating costs of the rig, then park the dang thing 'til it can be sold to the highest bidder. In other words, make the law breakers who might not have been caught if not for this rig pay its expenses.

Pasted from a news article about the truck
Violations they look out for include speeding, tailgating, texting and cellphone use, following too closely and other infractions around the tractor-trailer.
The law enforcement truck used in the operation was formerly a Florida Department of Transportation vehicle; its trailer was a refrigerated unit that was seized from a company that failed to pay fines.
Hope they start catching a bunch of the texting motorists. -
