Talking Police Crack Down On Motorists Driving Recklessly Around Truckers

Quote:
When police spotted the slate blue Passat Friday, it was nearly nuzzling the rear doors of a 20-ton semi as the two vehicles sped north on Interstate 75 near I-275 in Northern Kentucky. It was an accident waiting to happen, according to Kentucky Vehicle Enforcement Officer Martin Mattingly.
But when pulled over, the Madison County, Ky., man at the wheel of the car said he could not imagine what he had done wrong. Now he knows.
And he probably won't do it again soon, thanks to the hefty price of a ticket for following a truck too closely.
"That will be a six-point violation on his license because what he was doing could have caused a commercial vehicle accident," Mattingly said. "And it's a $149 ticket."

It's about time they go after the biggest cause of most truck to car related accidents.

Talking Crackdown on Motorists

My Husband has been a Truck Driver of 35 yrs., I've only been on the road with him for 3 of those years and the things I've seen has shocked me. I think it's about time the Police crack down on the 4-wheelers. Maybe they will finally realize that it's not always the Truck Drivers fault. Too many times are Drivers cut off and having to hit the brakes due to inconsiderate drivers. One for the Police Dept.!!!

Finaly it happens police doing something to get the 4 wheelers off the back doors. I know that in Michigan they keep bilbords and things about staying back off of trucks but they do more ads and have higher fines for Highway workers hit or speeders in work Zones. They need to do something about tailgaters.

This will be one topic that will bring out the truckers in support of the cops. Hooray for the cops for finally doing something about the cause of the accidents.
