Peters asks Congress to let cross-border truck project continue

Peters asks Congress to let cross-border truck project continue

U.S. Transportation Secretary Mary E. Peters on Wednesday, Oct. 17, joined with U.S. Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez and Mexican Transportation Secretary Luis Tellez in calling on Congress to reconsider its pending prohibition and let the cross-border trucking demonstration program between the two nations proceed.

“With the change of just a few words, Congress can show that we can trade with the world, keep our highways safe, and our companies competitive at the same time,” Peters said.

In September, the Department of Transportation began a cross-border trucking demonstration project that will allow up to 100 U.S. trucking companies to operate in Mexico and up to 100 Mexican trucking companies to operate beyond commercial zones in the United States. The future of the program is in jeopardy due to pending legislation that would cut off federal funds for the demonstration.

Im real confused now, i guess this genius didnt watch Fox News, this mornin, a Mexican crossed our border via plane 76 times, with a highly contagious strain of TB.
But yet our border is open to Mexican drivers carrying more disease then a truck stop toliet seat.. I think im going to try to email these blogs to regarding mexican drivers, maybe this will help her, with her home work..

Dear Ron, im not a racist.. Look at the color im using.. LOL
I like orange better..
This country is going down the toliet anything to speak out about Americans getting screwed, I do so..
You can be black, white or brown.. If your taking away rights, freedom and standard of living. Im against you!
Years ago i was hauling high x, for a hwy project in NJ. it was from 80 to Sufferin NY, this Hwy is now knon as 287. 1 of the biggest contractors in the world was Yonkers construction, it was union. Well what i learned after c ing the concrete drivers go on strike and scabs come into take there jobs away was something else, I watched alot of these scabs leave in Ambulances and the police turn there back. i was with in 30 ft of a driver who had a cinder blocked thrown thru his window, his face looked like a grape with out the skin. I was young at that time, i though how cruel.. The man just wanted to make a living.. But i got to talking to people and what the bottom line added up to is that man was not concerned about taking away another mans lively hood. I live in TX and when i come home 1 of my closes friends is a Mexican, his dad was a marine and his children are now in the service or law enforcement, his dad who served in korea, brought his children up to speak english and be proud to be American! Oh just 1 more comment, my motherinlaw is from Montery.. U figure it out!
