USA Just Occurred *** Truck Hi-jacked***

Fox News Alert stated that at about noon today (Oct 19th) a tanker carying Diesel Fuel was hi-jacked at gun point in Baltimore, Md. The Driver was fueling up at the time, when a man in a blue jumpsuit approached, pulled a gun and took his truck. Last seen heading towards I-95. The only other thing I could get was the truck had Maine and Maryland Plates. Police said it appeared to be a theft, not related to terrorism.

WASHINGTON, DC (WUSA) -- A gasoline tanker, hijacked at gunpoint in Baltimore early this morning, has been located in Southeast Washington, right off of I-295.

9NEWS NOW Reporter Gary Reals reports District police are quickly setting up crime scene tape around the truck. The truck is parked in the 100- block of Malcolm X Avenue SE, just a quarter mile off of the interstate, and just beyond the entrance to Bolling Air Force Base.

Police are still looking for the driver that stole the truck.

9NEW NOW has learned that canine units and Fire Department Hazmat crews are preparing to search the wooded area.

A 9NEWS NOW photographer was the first news crew on the scene. The truck driver's seatbelt was visibly hanging out of the driver's side door. The tanker truck appears to have been left here fairly recently, according to police on the scene.

personaly i think hazmat and mail carrier drivers should be allowed to conceal carry on and off the job. what if this person was a terrorist. thats a 40 ton bomb right there. and mail trucks haul billions of dollars in checks, money orders, identity, ect.

also tobacco and alcohol carrying drivers too.

just my personal opinion

Why stop there, let them all carry. Let everyone carry, then the criminals don't know who to victimize.

Only one bad thought to this. What about all of these radio rambo wanting to duke it out, will the truckstops become the OK corral?

At least the radio waves would be quieter. And more miles for everyone else.
