An ongoing investigation led the St. Francis County Sheriff’s Department to nearly half a million dollars worth of large equipment and vehicles last week that were reportedly stolen from Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas.

An official with the sheriff’s department said deputies, acting on a tip, recovered two Caterpillar backhoes, a Kubota mule, an International 18-wheeler tractor and a Caterpillar road grader.

Both backhoes and the mule were recovered at the Crow Creek residence of George Cochran. The 18-wheeler tractor was found at the shop of Danny Reeves on First Street in Forrest City. Another search warrant served on Friday at the Reeves property turned up the road grader.
