LEHI - Bruce Taylor remembers too well the monumental reconstruction of Interstate 15 through the Salt Lake Valley. The daily commute from northern Utah County to his Zions Bancorporation job in West Valley City was a maddening labyrinth.
"It was terrible. It was a painful four or five years," he said after disembarking an express bus at the park-and-ride lot on his way home this week. "You had to really learn to use some alternate routes."
Usually a carpool commuter, Taylor is now preparing to go through some of the pain again. The state plans to tear up and start over on the freeway's Utah County segment. The Utah Department of Transportation on Friday released a draft environmental impact statement calling for reconstruction of 43 miles from Sandy to Payson, with additional lanes in either direction and an express-lane extension all the way to U.S. Highway 6 in Spanish Fork. >>>>

National truck counts will rise 100 percent in the next 20 years

This is an incredibly scary figure, and one that should have every one from the drivers to the state to truck stop operators scrambling to find all the night time parking for them.

Also HOS will become far more restrictive rather than less restrictive meaning more trucks will be parked longer.
