Boston’s Big Dig project officially complete Boston’s Big Dig project officially complete 12/28/07 Quote: After 16 years and nearly $15 billion, Boston’s Big Dig underground highway system is scheduled to be officially declared complete on New Year’s Eve. The Big Dig is the costliest and most complex highway project in U.S. history. It was originally thought it would cost less than $3 billion dollars to build. The project has been plagued by cost overruns, thousands of water leaks, the use of some substandard materials and a fatal concrete ceiling collapse. But Big Dig boosters say it’s still an engineering marvel that moved a section of Interstate 93 underground and cut the average driving time through Boston from 20 minutes to less than three. 16 years, $15billion, a ceiling collapse resulting.. in the involuntary murder of a woman I think it was. All that for a whopping 17 minutes. Brilliant... It goes to show you how moronic these "engineers" are afterall . 16 years !!! your little baby went thru kindergarten, elementary, and half way thru high school by the time these rat-finks finally figured out how to dig a hole thru the earth !! And by the time that kid is married with kids.... the whole highway system will be outdated again . Marvelous . Then you'll witness another never-before-attemped scheme at taking your tax dollars and making you sit in more traffic jams because they've figured out how to get from point A to point B in 13 minutes instead of 17. and another 16 1/2 years . joke.
