HARRISBURG, Pa. -- The state wants your opinion on a proposed statewide idling reduction plan.

It's primarily aimed at long haul truckers, who run their trucks while they're resting so they can heat or cool their cabs. The plan would limit idling to five minutes an hour.

The state said if long haul truckers in Pennsylvania used alternative ways to provide power during rest periods, fuel use would be cut more than 20 million gallons a year.
