Truck driver charged with DUI

Truck driver pumping gas charged with DUI in Middlesex
1/31/08
Carlisle Sentinel, PA

Police say several employees at Gables of Carlisle truckstop in Middlesex Township alerted police Wednesday night to a truck driver they say was too drunk to stand.

Township police say officers were flagged down by employees after Charles J. Harris, 49, of Belle Vernon, Pa., pumped gas at 7:54 p.m.

Police pulled Harris’ tractor-trailer over as he attempted to leave the parking lot. Asked to step from the truck, police say Harris “had trouble standing without holding on.”

He was charged with DUI and booked at Cumberland County Prison. Police say Harris’ blood alcohol content registered .284 — or seven times the legal limit for an operator of a commercial vehicle.

Thank goodness some of the employees at the truckstop took the initiative to call the police.

Like I told my bro one time (he liked to grow his own)

-It's like this, put your career, your family, and your good name in one hand and partying in the other. Which one weighs more-

He chose the former and bought his first house last year.
