Illinois diesel-vehicle surcharge defeated Illinois diesel-vehicle surcharge defeated 3/18/08 Quote: A proposal to place a 1 percent surcharge on the sale or lease of all diesel-powered vehicles in the state of Illinois, on road and off road, has been defeated in the Legislature. The proposal was contained in HB 5772, sponsored by Rep. Karen May (D-Highwood), and SB 2083, sponsored by Sen. Jacqueline Collins (D-Chicago). After much pressure from a coalition led by the Mid-West Truckers Association, May's bill was not called in the House Environmental Health Committee, while Collins' bill passed the Senate Energy & Environment Committee only after she agreed to remove the surcharge. http://www.etrucker.com/apps/news/article.asp?id=67588

bear sternes was loaned a lot of money one day ,then 2 days later,within about 6 hours the stock dropped from30 dollars a share to 2 dollars a share. wonder which CEO put all that money in his or her pocket????? how many times is this going to happen these days????
