Toll roads safer than non-tolled roads

Toll roads safer than non-tolled roads

WASHINGTON – Recently, two studies show toll roads are much safer than non-tolled roads and the public overwhelmingly supports both tolling and road pricing, said a news release from the International Bridge, Tunnel and Turnpike Association (IBTTA).

The first study compares the safety record of toll roads, tunnels and bridges to that of non-tolled facilities in the U.S. “This study, based on the most complete compilation of statistics available about the toll industry, concludes that toll facilities in the United States have a much lower fatality rate than do U.S. roads overall and lower fatality rates than both urban and rural interstate highways,” stated the release.

“The new research shows that toll roads actually have a lower fatality rate than non-tolled roads. This is true for even the safest type of roads in the U.S., the interstate highways,” said Patrick D. Jones, Executive Director and CEO of the IBTTA.

Who do these idiots think they are kidding? Ya the public enjoys giving more money for roads they already pay for.. 10-4 on that....
I guess if I wanted money I could say that the public would be much safer if they mailed me $100 each, and the majority approve of this so please do..

The only reason if they are really safer is becuase they are taken more care of...
perhaps less traveled then other Interstates as well...

Less Traveled is right Truckerjo.

How stupid ? We paid $4+ per gal. of gas and $5+ per gal. diesel, THAT's how stupid.
I include myself in that definition, for my cowardness to act against U.S.A. Petroleum Inc. (only way today is "strategery" and Extreme Violence, all else is just bla blah blahk).
