Trucking company that transports Pepsi products fined

Trucking company that transports Pepsi products fined

4/8/08
Ventura County Star, CA -
Quote:
A trucking company that moves Pepsi products around California was recently fined for air quality violations.

The California Air Resources Board fined Indianapolis-based New Bern Transport Corp. $280,125 for failing to inspect its diesel trucks, which leads to increased air pollution, officials said. More than two dozen cities around the state, including Ventura, were affected by the emissions, which can increase the risk of respiratory diseases such as asthma and bronchitis.

The violations were found during routine inspections, officials said. As part of the settlement, New Bern workers will have to undergo training and emission control labels will have to be placed on all the trucks that are brought up to federal standards.
The money from the fine goes toward air pollution research as well as diesel education classes.

I agree with twinturbotrans. If I ever become o/o after start as an company, I am not going into cali or near there. No disrespect intended for o/o's who there but this rediculious unless running old mechanical engines.

You evidently have not been in California recently.

There are many windmill farms out there. Alot of hot air also.
