I have always wanted to live there until I became a truck driver.

Then recently affirmed it with the help of this forum.

Truckers, others in Antelope Valley, CA, to fight truck parking ban
Quote:
Besides struggling to find work as the demand for freight continues to plummet, truckers in the Antelope Valley have been dealt another blow.
Truckers there are being fined as much as $1,000 and threatened with six months in jail after being cited for parking their rigs on their own property in the unincorporated area of Los Angeles County.
Some truckers plan to meet in Littlerock, CA, at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 19, to discuss ways they can fight the county’s truck parking ordinance issue, which could force some to relocate or pay to garage their trucks elsewhere.
Tom Fidger, an owner-operator from Littlerock, CA, is hosting the meeting at his workshop on Friday night.
“Times are rough out here. Truckers just don’t have piles of cash to hand over to these code enforcement officials for parking our trucks on our own property,” he said “We pay our taxes, and we buy our fuel and tires from businesses here. And then the county wants to hit us again this way?”

Yeah...Welcome to Kommiefornia where even a 1 ton pick-up can receive code enforcement violations for being parked in the driveway and starting up early in the morning because diesels are too loud for the whiny neighbor next door...it ruins his "beauty sleep".....

California Diesel Emission law

Hi Guys

So what can we do to stop the law that is going to take place in 2010 for diesel emissions in CA?

As you know this is going to put many companies out of business. I want to do my part as a citizen of CA to try and stop this law from happening.

thanks,
Andrew

Not a da*m thing, CARB has already voted, case closed.
We also have Arnold who wants to go down in history as the "Environmental Governor".
O/O's will either move out of state and not run CA again or save their pennies buy a new rig they can run for a few years before CARB makes up more rules and the whole process repeats.
CA is anti-business unless it's environmentally correct. So until trucks run off of Air or the very least, political hot air....CA's trucking will suffer.
