Simple solution,.....Why don't all the trucks just shut down, and sit still for a few weeks,.......Maybe that would open some eyes...

Everywhere except CA.
If carriers were to do so then the Mexican drivers (whose trucks are exempt despite what CARB says) would eagerly fill the void.....

Who Stands to Profit From California's New Diesel Regulations?
12/15/08
Quote:
The California Air Resources Board's new regulations will require big-rig truckers to add filters to their existing fleets between 2011 and 2014. Someone stands to make a tidy profit for retrofitting those diesel engines.

Please remember before you read this, that this is only my opinion, and even I don't like the truth of it...

There are many many companies that will be put out of business by this law. Most of them will be what are refered to as "field companies", companies that take the produce from the field to the first point of processing. No-one in their right mind is going to take a shiny new truck into those fields, and no farmer would expect them to. California produce will be rotting in the fields.

Of the companies left when this law takes effect, most of them will be the bigger, OTR companies. These are the guys that are going to have to bring in the rest of our consumer goods. And since there are going to be so fw of them left... they are going to be able to set their own rates, basically. (That is, until the State steps in and tries to regulate their rates...) With the increase in rates that is naturally going to occur, the price of consumer goods is going to go through the roof, while we have food rotting in the fields....

California Air Resources Board has screwed the people of the state of California. People who were worried about their children's asthma are now going to be worried about how to get the proper meds for them, since they have to come from out-of-state. And quite a few are going to be wondering where to get FOOD for them, as the produce has to come from out of area...

Yes, let's cut off our nose to spite our face...

Dairy cows are next on the list....
When we are starving and thirsty, having to depend on out of state trucking, only then will the liberal morons in SAC be happy with their Marxist Paradise.

Ron, are you headed to Kansas with me when this caravan heads out? We'll put another house on that 5 acres I'm looking at, and have milk cows and chickens and fruit trees and a HUGE vegatable garden....

We'll buy the 60 acres down the road.. actually just at the end of the street. It's only 100 yards away, and they only want $15,000 for it. But you'll have to help me redo the cabinets in the kitchen....
