According to Knoxvillebiz there has been another bidder for the assets of Idleaire Technologies Corp. It has not been confirmed who the other bidder is or what the bid amount was. The bid deadline was yesterday. Company officials could not be reached for comment.

So there IS going to be an auction tomorrow starting at 10:00 a.m. The highest bid from yesterday will be the starting bid for tomorrow, with increments in $250,000. This should turn out to be very interesting. We will know very soon who is going to own the assets. Again, what will be done once the bidder owns the assets? Any ideas who the other bidder is?

There have been multiple bids for Idleaire Technologies, one by Idleaire Holdings, two different oil companies and one by a major trucking company. I'm actually surprised this is turning into a bidding war, seeing how Idleaire was never profitable. Keep your eyes peeled.

With more states passing anti-idling laws, Idleaire could very well find itself in a very nice position.

With the rates they charge, at least they could provide clean air. As much as the 10 hour break is, a motel at least has a shower.

Exactly. Since I just recently signed up with OOIDA's discount hotel program through Corporate Lodging Consultants, I figure I can now find a hotel just about anywhere at a decent price if my a/c happens to be out or my APU happens to be out at the time.

They really need to compete against both hotels and APUs. If they don't, they're doomed. Frankly, I just don't see it happening, not with the huge employee expenses they have. Their monthly employee costs alone, just the site reps, exceeded their monthly revenue. This does not include rent, insurance, utilties, maintenance, etc. What are they thinking?

According to an article on Knoxville News [LINK POSTED BY MEMBER] Only Members Can View This Truck Forum Link. Idleaire Technologies has been sold for roughly 26 million dollars to a Wells Fargo-led noteholder group on July 9.

The sale approval hearing was held on Friday, July 11 and has been officially approved. The closing of the sale should happen within the next couple of weeks. I guess we'll see what happens.

IdleAire in the hands of new owners

Quote:
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- A deal was recently struck for the purchase of IdleAire Technologies, which filed for Chapter 11 back in May.
The truckstop electrification company had agreed to sell its assets for $10 million, unless a better bid made during an auction.

ok heres my thought when you say 8000 for a year roughly based on the houldy rate how about they just offer a yearly package, for 3000 bucks then people might actually use the service more thats less than 10 bucks a day or 2 gallons of gas
