Trucker reports theft of diesel fuel

Trucker reports theft of diesel fuel while sleeping at Plymouth truck stop
5/14/08
WSBT-TV, IN
Quote:
PLYMOUTH — A second semi-truck driver has reported the theft of gasoline from his truck while parked at the Pilot Truck Stop at U.S. 30 and King Road.
Jerry Bowers, age and address not provided, reported to Marshall County Sheriff’s Department officers that he awoke Sunday to find that about 150 gallons of diesel fuel were stolen from his semi-truck during the night.
A truck driver reported in early April that about 200 gallons of diesel fuel was taken from his truck while it was parked at the truck stop for a few days.
Anyone with information on either theft should contact the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department at (574) 936-3187.

Not generally for company drivers.
SOMEbody will always forget or lose the key.
And there are those who'll just keep 'em to sell 'em.

O/O's would be more likely to use 'em.

Besides, if a thief REALLY wants the fuel badly enough, they'll tear up a tank to get it. The cost of fuel probably would be less expensive than a tank repair or replacement, --- especially when the down-time is factored in.

Yea, it was similar to the one in the video there but it was the aluminum version that completely covered the cap. Might have to look into getting a couple of those...had 100 gallons of diesel siphoned off last month...DAMN that hurt!
